• ISM programs, staff and administration will foster and promote:

• A learning community environment in which parents, teachers, students and administrators will work in partnership with a common core of values and share accountability for the educational process.

• An ethic of striving for continuous improvement and excellence.

• Appropriate psychological and emotional growth for students.

• Models of appropriate conduct for students and other members of the school community, since the values inherent in that conduct have a strong impact on the students´ development and on what and how they learn.

• The importance of Venezuela’s cultural, linguistic, and geographical context as a positive and enriching influence on our students’ education.

Faculty

• Of the 21 teachers, 11 are from the U.S. and Canada and 10 from Latinoamerica.
  
  
• Instructors are credentialed by the authority appropiate to their area of instruction and are teaching in their area of preparation. Approximately 40% of current teachers hold a Masters Degree.
  
  
  
• Import teachers are in charge of all classroom instruction in grades 1 through 12 except in the areas of Spanish, Venezuelan History and Culture, Computers and Music. Spanish and Venezuelan History and Culture are taught at an appropriate level for non-native Spanish speakers.
  
  
•  The school has sent many teachers to Caracas to particípate in College of New Jersey courses and to the United States for professional development, as well as bringing internationally known educational presenters to the ISM campus to work directly with the professional staff.
